Inquiry Homework
Music Inquiry big question - How Does Music Impact on Society? As part of the immersion stage of our inquiry we are going to make scrap book pages for the last 5 decades. This will be a homework task. you will have 2 weeks to complete each double scrapbook page. * Music in the 1960s * Music in the 1970s * Music in the 1980s * Music in the 1990s * Music in the 2000s
We have started with the 80's and this is due on Friday 12th August.
Success criteria -Choose 5 headings for each page. The brainstorm in the back of your Big Book will help. -Some examples are: Music styles; Musical artists or Bands; Influence on Fashion; TV/Film music; Lyrics with social messages. -The focus is on Music and its influence on society. -Each page needs to contain written text and images (captions will be needed for images). -Absolutely no writing can be copied and pasted from a web page- this is stealing.
People who have little or no access to the internet at home can see Mrs Callaghan for extra time on computers at school.
Science Fair Hand in date is Monday June 13th (week 7)
We will be working in class on investigation skills and fair testing. There will also be some time to work on your science fair entry. Remember, the most important part of your science fair entry is your log book!
I have put the Science Fair entry criteria below. There are also copies of the assessment rubrics to download underneath.
Click on the documents below to download a copy of the assessment rubric
On this page you will find information about: Speeches (due to be ready for presentation by Monday March 14th) Reading Logs - homework for the second half of term
This term you need to start putting reading logs onto your Wiki Page. You will need to put on at least 3 by the end of this term. I have put an example of a very simple review below. The most important part is the personal response section. Being able to write a good personal response will really help you when you get to high School.
Click on the picture of the persuasion map at the bottom of the page to use the persuasion mapping tool.
Hi Room 31. We will see who checks the homework page tonight. If you see this have a go at the cool jigsaw puzzle by clicking the link below.
Speech 2011- Be ready to present your speech to the class in week 7 Here are some ideas for speech topics with a focus on Positive Behaviour for Learning. Feel free to bring other ideas to Mrs Callaghan if you come up with other suitable topics.
Remember your speech is a persuasive piece of writing(an exposition) and it follows the hamburger format.
Underneath the list of topics there is a copy if the assessment criteria and this can be downloaded.
